My Music Setup

My Music Setup

I am a musician. I have been a musician for a long, long time. It wasn’t until around four years ago before I started building up my setup. Here are the tools I use to make my music:

  1. An old iMac: I use an iMac running Big Sur. It is fast enough to run GarageBand.

  2. GarageBand (apple.com): While this may feel like a basic software, it is insanely powerful. It has the ability to add external plugins into the software, along with automation, MIDI control input, along with hundreds of instruments built into the software.

  3. M-Audio Keystation 49 MK3 (m-audio.com): This MIDI keyboard offers very little latency, and has forty-nine keys. It easily connects up with Garageband, requiring no setup or additional software. It also has a modulation and pitch controller, along with an input for a sustain pedal.

  4. Logitech Z313 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System (amazon.com): This speaker system has fantastic sound. With a subwoofer and two desktop speakers, the sound is top-notch.

  5. M-Audio Air 192 | 4 (m-audio.com): This piece of hardware allows you to connect anything with an instrument cable or a microphone cable as an audio input. It offers crystal clear audio, and works well with the built-in pedalboard and amplifiers in the GarageBand software.

This is the setup that has helped me make music for the Minecraft podcast “Dig Straight Down” along with other various personal projects.
